Which Hiscox Case Fits Your Guitar?

Which Hiscox Case Fits Your Guitar?

Finding the Right Fit

Every Hiscox case is precision-moulded for a specific family of instruments. A Strat case won't fit a Les Paul. A dreadnought case won't fit a classical. Getting the right model matters, and it's simpler than you'd think.

Here's the quick guide. For full dimensions and compatibility lists, use our interactive case finder.

Electric Guitar Cases

Stratocaster, Telecaster, and Super Strats (Model EF)

The EF is the most popular Hiscox case. It fits all standard Fender Stratocasters and Telecasters, plus Super Strat shapes from Ibanez, Jackson, Charvel, ESP, Suhr, and many more.

Also fits: PRS SE, PRS Custom 22/24, Schecter, Kiesel, Solar Guitars, Music Man Axis, and the Ruf Schrodinger.

Internal dimensions: 1040mm overall length, 328mm lower bout, 51mm body depth.

Les Paul and Single-Cut (Model EG)

For Gibson Les Pauls, Epiphone Les Pauls, and similar single-cutaway electrics. Also fits the ESP LTD EC-1000, Schecter Solo-II, Chapman ML2, and Eastman SB59.

Internal dimensions: 1030mm overall length, 330mm lower bout, 51mm body depth.

Gibson SG and Double-Cut (Model SG)

The SG model fits Gibson SG shapes and similar double-cutaway electrics with thinner bodies.

Internal dimensions: 1022mm overall length, 335mm lower bout, 51mm body depth.

Offset Guitars (Model EJAG)

For Fender Jaguars and offset-body electrics. Note: this case does not fit a Fender Jazzmaster. The Jazzmaster body is wider.

Internal dimensions: 1022mm overall length, 350mm lower bout, 51mm body depth.

Bass Guitar Cases

Jazz Bass and Precision Bass (Model EBS)

Fits standard long-scale electric basses. Fender Jazz Bass, Precision Bass, Yamaha, Ibanez SR, Lakland, G&L, and similar models.

Internal dimensions: 1190mm overall length, 349mm lower bout, 65mm body depth.

Acoustic Guitar Cases

Dreadnought (Model GAD)

The big one. Fits Martin D-28, Gibson J-45, Taylor 210ce/310/410/810, Yamaha FG800, Guild D-55, Seagull S6, and most full-sized dreadnoughts.

Internal dimensions: 1086mm overall length, 413mm lower bout, 125mm body depth.

Orchestra Model / 000 (Model OM)

For OM and 000 style acoustics. Slightly narrower and shallower than the dreadnought case.

Internal dimensions: 1090mm overall length, 412mm lower bout, 115mm body depth.

Grand Jumbo (Model GJ)

For large jumbo-bodied acoustics with wider bouts.

Internal dimensions: 1113mm overall length, 440mm lower bout, 129mm body depth.

Classical Guitar Cases

Hiscox makes three sizes for classical guitars: Large (GCL-L), Medium (GCL-M), and Small (GCL-S). The large fits concert and flamenco instruments. The medium fits standard Spanish-style classicals. The small fits parlour and 7/8 size instruments.

Why the Fit Matters

Hiscox cases were designed by a master luthier who understood that guitar protection isn't just about the shell. It's about how the instrument sits inside.

Every Hiscox case accommodates neck angles from 0 to 4 degrees. That means whether your guitar has a flat bolt-on neck or a steep set-neck angle, the headstock is properly supported and the pressure is distributed across the body. It sounds technical, but it's the difference between a guitar that's cradled safely and one where the headstock takes all the impact on every bump.

This is something most case manufacturers don't even consider. Hiscox built it in from day one.

Perfect the Fit

Once you've got the right case model, you can fine-tune it with custom fit cushion pads. Every guitar is slightly different, even two of the same model, and these pads let you pack out the interior so there's zero movement inside the case.

The backpack strap system is worth considering too. Every Hiscox case has four D-ring attachment points, and the dual-strap backpack turns your hard case into a rucksack. Hands free, weight on both shoulders, full protection.

Not Sure?

If your guitar isn't listed here, the easiest approach is to measure two things: the overall length from headstock to strap button, and the lower bout width at the widest point. Compare those to the internal dimensions above.

Or just get in touch. We've fitted hundreds of guitars into Hiscox cases at the showroom and can tell you which model will work in about thirty seconds.
